Group Leader role to lead the Materials Handling organisation to deliver 100% materials availability to line for Cummins Generator Technologies based in Stamford.
Group Leader role to lead the Materials Handling organisation to deliver 100% materials availability to line for Cummins Generator Technologies based in Stamford.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Materials Handling100% availability of materials to the line side location - Zero error in inventory processes Minimising Material Handling costs and reducing opportunities for error or delay
Efficient engineering of Material Presentation - Maintain and control pull systems
Defined storage locations, overflow areas and internal routings
Control of Resources
Ensure all Personnel operate to H&S procedures
Leadership development and motivation of the team
Communication, training & development - Discipline, control and procedures
Initiate, develop and encourage continuous improvement
Fiscal Budgetary control - Set/agree/work within budgets.
Exercise demonstrable control of all expenditure items
Define & execute plans for waste elimination & performance improvement
Set level of consumable spend/usage for operational requirements
Closely control actual usage against planControl of working capital
Set WIP levels with the shops to support business cash flow targets - Maintain data and inventory accuracy
Set and control raw inventory levels in line with business targets
Process DevelopmentManage, develop and support all team members both on and off site
Lead and promote functional, company & industry standards
Lead the Material Team to deliver the Materials Strategy
Support NPI (new product introduction) to ensure it is timely and satisfactory
Develop robust processes in all areas
Provide information and support to promote other functions to operate efficiently to the benefit of the customer and the company
Essential Skills: HNC or Degree in appropriate Engineering or related discipline such as Supply Chain, Logistics, Materials or Purchasing.
Previous experience of leading in a storage and handling environment
Experience of sequential flow operations and in a lean manufacturing environment
