Candidate Profile
This is an opportunity for a dynamic and energetic candidate with about 3 years experience in Hedge Fund Research plus another 2 years experience in the alternative asset industry to join the London team of a successful Fund of Hedge Funds with in excess of £5 Billion under management. The role is to focus predominantly on Latin American manager assessment and selection, plus assistance with the ongoing monitoring of existing Managers in the Funds.
The successful candidate should be driven, hard working, multilingual, detail oriented, investigative and a team player.
Fluency required in Spanish and Portuguese
The candidate should be able to demonstrate an ability to fit into the current research team and manage his/her own time without direct supervision.
The candidate should have a demonstrated ability to reach conclusions regarding new investments into underlying managers as well ability to tracking the ongoing suitability of existing managers within the Fund portfolios.
Job Description
The role would be based in London and include the following responsibilities:

Identification and selection of mainly Latin American hedge fund managers through a combination of bottom up/top down analysis.
Liaison with prime brokers (CapIntro groups) and other hedge fund representatives to source potential investments.
Monitoring of existing investments from all regions (performance, structure, staff, and assets under management, strategies, and new opportunity sets) together with the Operational Due Diligence team.
Conducting Manager Interviews and onsite visits (together with at least another Investment Committee member) and writing of managers reviews to be shared by all Investment Committee members.
Take responsibility for and improve current qualitative database management (maintenance of qualitative data on central platform and monthly communications to the Investment Committee).
Provision of portfolio recommendations to the other members of the Investment Committee on a month basis.
Specific Monitoring of Institutional accounts where appropriate.
Assisting the Head of research in monthly trade execution.
Where appropriate, monthly reporting of performance on specific institutional accounts and contributing to comments for the monthly investor newsletter.
Where appropriate, client servicing of investors from a portfolio management point of view.
