| What is the Role? This work includes all aspects of the Rolling Stock required for the companies successful operation. This multi disciplinary consultancy now require a mechanical or electrical engineer (Rolling Stock) to join the Derby team to carry out detailed technical and project management work. The successful candidate will report to a Team Leader and will be based in either Derby or London. He/she will be responsible for delivering whole projects or detailed tasks within projects to time and budget. Some of this work may involve the use of sophisticated in-house software. The successful candidate will be expected to develop relationships with key clients and continue to promote the companies effectively and the services that they offer. The successful candidate will be encouraged to develop their capabilities with a view to becoming a Team Leader. The candidate will ideally: Be degree qualified in a mechanical or electrical discipline. Be a Chartered Mechanical/Electrical Engineer with post qualification experience. Have the ability to communicate with clarity both verbally and in writing. The candidate should have experience in some of the following areas: Proven experience in the design and manufacture of Rolling Stock. Proven experience in the procurement of rail vehicles. Proven vehicle dynamics experience with detailed knowledge of Vampire modelling software. Proven Rolling Stock consultancy experience. Rolling Stock systems engineering. Depot design and/or operation. Detailed specialist knowledge of one or more Rolling Stock discipline (e.g. bogies or vehicle structures).
