Background:
Our client is a human health care company seeking innovative solutions in disease prevention, cure and care for the health and well-being of people worldwide. They are currently seeking a Medical Affairs Scientist with experience of copy approval, symposia planning, clinical trials, publication planning and compliance with EFPIA Codes of Practice.
The ideal candidate will be educated to degree level or equivalent and MSc or pharmacy degree will be considered an advantage. This role could also suit someone in medical information looking for a move into medical affairs.

Primary Duties:
In liaison with the European medical adviser, provide support for the following activities
• Medical Marketing Support
o Provision of scientific support to medical and marketing activities as required (eg. Data review, promotional copy design, brand reviews, market research, advisory boards, support to EU affiliates)
• Symposia Planning
o Contribution to symposia planning meetings / teleconferences
o Liaison with communications agencies / review of agendas and slides / liaison with presenting faculty / participation in slide review and other technical matters relating to symposia preparation
• Clinical Trials
o Interfacing with clinical operations
o Review of clinical data / clinical study reports
• Publication Planning
o Contribution to publications planning meetings / teleconferences
o Liaison with communications agencies / review of manuscripts & posters / liaison with potential authors
• Compliance with EFPIA Codes of Practice
o Training will be provided in EFPIA and ABPI codes of practice
o Review / certification of items requiring promotional copy approval
Qualifications:
Qualifications & Skills:
Scientific Degree (BSc/ BPharm or equivalent)
Higher level degree desirable but not mandatory (e.g. MSc / PhD)

Experience having worked within the pharmaceutical industry
Medical affairs experience would be an advantage
Exposure to clinical trial implementation
Exposure to clinical data critique and analysis
Knowledge of EFPIA/ABPI code of practice
