Avenue Scotland is a leading recruitment agency, who are looking to source a Buyer for a manufacturing site in the Angus region.  This is a contract position which is scheduled to run for six months, although it could run longer depending on business requirements.

Our client has been established for over a century and they maintain an outstanding reputation of providing excellent goods and services to a wide range of industries. They have a long established association with agriculture, and continue to offer an extensive range of specialist equipment for the 21st century farming industry. However, over the last three decades, they have also become a major player in the supply of innovative material handling and storage solutions for the offshore, gas and chemical, security, medical, defence and utility markets.

The role of Buyer, within any organisation, is a position which requires a high calibre individual.  The candidate will be entrusted with; sourcing, negotiating and managing suppliers to ensure that materials are on site for the manufacturing team. 

The candidate will ideally possess:

• a demonstrable background in Procurement and candidates with steel/metal experience will be at a distinct advantage
• proficient experience of managing suppliers
• experience of negotiating price, quantity and time lines
• experience of procuring products from China, Poland and India would be advantageous although not essential
