Buyer required for a seabed-to-surface engineering and construction contractor for the offshore oil and gas industry.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Proactively contribute to the department and company’s definition of Contract and SCM strategies and goals and to the achievement of these.
  • Proactively support internal clients such as tendering, marine assets and projects with performance of the assigned supply chain activities.
  • Manage the process from identification of potential suppliers, request for quotations, negotiation, recommendation and final award of purchase orders of equipment, parts, consumables, services, stock and provisions.
  • Ensure the Purchasing activities and deliverables are undertaken in accordance with agreed Requisitions and issues status of Purchasing activities
  • Participate and conduct tasks as required to pre-qualify suppliers to the Company’s approved supplier list with particular emphasis on the requirements for the purchasing activities.
  • Complete supplier feedback and assessments for purchasing commitments.
  • Assist in negotiation and management of Frame Agreements with main subcontractors
  • Ensure the supplier maintains progress by review of progress reports and schedules to meet the on-time delivery of purchased materials and equipment.
  • Liaise with engineering and quality to ensure the goods meet specifications prior to release to ship
  • Assist and coordinate the implementation of the Project Procurement Plan, together with Project Management, Engineering, (and/or others as appropriate) when applicable.

Requirements:

  • Degree level or equivalent education preferred but experience may replace the requirement for higher education.
  • High degree of computer literacy essential.
