Overall Purpose of the post:

To provide a comprehensive, accurate and cost effective service for clients and to provide assistance to senior colleagues.

The role includes:

• liaising with Project Companies, Funders / Monoline Guarantors and Investors as part of an iterative process leading to the identification and elimination or management of risks to the Funders' interests;

• Progression towards leading a TDD commission whilst acting as point of contact with the project Funder and Bidding Consortia and respective professional advisors;

• The role includes meetings with Funders, Lawyers, Contractors and other consortium members in order to appraise the project particulars in respect of technical risk to the Funders / Investors;

• Additionally the consultant will be required to deliver project-monitoring services to the Funders during the construction phase including monthly reporting and certification duties;

• Supplementary duties will include the preparation of fee submissions and marketing of the service offering.

Experience:

This role would suit an individual with an intermediate level background in commercial management / quantity surveying who would like to gain experience in PFI Consultancy. The role will cover Technical Due Diligence in support of Project Funding and project monitoring during the construction and operational phases of PFI and other projects.

This role requires:

PFI Consultant Desired Skills:

• Commercially aware and financially astute individual who can identify the key issues and set suitable benchmarks.

• A clear thinking person demonstrating attention to detail who is well organised and can operate independently under a broad direction.

• A team builder who can develop and maintain good relationships and gain the confidence of other professionals both within the Company and outside.

• A broad thinker who can take a global view

• Used to working as part of a team but capable of using own initiative.

• Ability to write concise reports.

• A good communicator who can influence and lead.

• Ability to work to tight deadlines. Ideally an intermediate level Quantity Surveyor who has at least two to three years post graduate experience and has obtained their professional qualification.

• Desirable to have a broad understanding and knowledge of PFI / PPP Advantageous but not essential to have previous experience of technical due diligence and project monitoring
